FARVET Laboratories, receives important award at OVUM 2019

Farvet achieved a successful participation during the XXVI OVUM Latin American Poultry Congress 2019, held on October 9-11 in the city of Lima, Peru.

During the XXVI OVUM Latin American Poultry Congress 2019, Laboratorios Farvet, a veterinary biopharmaceutical company, was recognized with an important prize for scientific merit “Lauriston Von Schmidt”.

This recognition was granted by the Latin American Poultry Association (ALA), as the best research and innovation work entitled “CRISPR / Cas9, a genetic editing system for the generation of a recombinant turkey herpes virus that expresses the virus fusion protein of Newcastle disease ”by the Farvet research team, which was successfully represented by the biologist Katherine Calderón.

In this way, Farvet demonstrates once again that one of its main objectives is scientific research aimed at obtaining high-tech results and thus offering products and services that protect and improve the lives of animals.

The award was presented by Dr. Ariel Antonio Mendes (Brazil), Director of institutional relations of the Brazilian Association of Animal Production (ABPA) and Dr. Apolonio Suárez, president of the Peruvian Poultry Association (APA).
